18 motivational thoughts to move on after the bad

“This sucks“—but it will be alright once you move on.

Just today my boyfriend and I missed our flight home from London because we didn‘t hear the alarm go off in the morning. What followed was a long, exhausting argument, and I think if we had decided to not follow our need to look for reasons, faults, and mistakes, it would have ended earlier.

I then ended up waiting at the airport alone (he took another flight) for 7 hours with a low phone battery (which I needed for boarding).

I was feeling like crap, and I really wanted to just hide and cry.

But I decided not to do that.

Instead, I decided to learn something out of this situation and move on.

Now I am writing this blog post at the airport, providing you with the affirmations I told myself to recover from the toxic situation, hoping to help you move on after your bad situation, no matter what situation that is.

Don‘t make it worse by thinking too much about it and regretting. Don‘t look for reasons. Accept it.

Shit just happens and it sucks. Remember:

It is always your own choice what you make out of it. Don‘t let it ruin your mood, or even your day.

You can be angry for some time, you even should allow your anger, but then don’t forget to let it go eventually and move on, because holding onto the bad will not benefit you. You have the choice, so decide to not remain stuck, no matter how much it sucks.

Don‘t let yourself be defined by the bad happening to you.
Decide to make the best out of every situation.
Take only the positive and get rid of the ballast.
You decide the way you are feeling.

So choose wisely.
